New Departmental Scholarships offered, application deadline March 1st

The Department of Philosophy and Religion will award three $1000 scholarships annually. To be eligible, candidates must be full-time students majoring in Philosophy (with or without a concentration in Religion) with a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Community college transfer students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) on all transferable community college coursework. Candidates will be evaluated based on academic merit; financial need will be considered but is not necessary for consideration. We will award scholarships to one student in each of the sophomore, junior and senior classes.

The due date is March 1st.

Majors must complete the university-wide application process outlined in the attached pdf and provide two extra items: a list of all coursework in the major listing instructors and grades and a brief personal statement on the value of the study of philosophy or philosophy with a concentration in religion. These items will be uploaded in your general application.
