Course Overrides
The Department of Philosophy and Religion receives more requests for overrides than we can grant. Most of our classes are held in rooms that do not contain any additional desks for students.
If you are a major in our department, you will receive an override to any course that has an available desk in the classroom. Contact Kelly Kolb kkolb@philrel.msstate.edu and ask her for assistance for a major seeking an override.
For all other students, overrides are granted at the discretion of the instructor. You should contact that instructor directly and request an override, listing your netId and the course name and section number.
Scholarships
Available Awards
The department has a limited number of scholarships that are awarded for a combination of financial need and merit. Any student who has declared a major may apply.
Deadlines
Students should apply for financial aid/scholarships through MSU College of Arts & Sciences
The priority deadline for submitting scholarship applications for entering freshmen is December 1. The deadline for transfer and continuing students is March 1.
